Fall
The aim for this music video was to create a cold and mysterious feeling, that is still passionate the same time. The way I achieved this look is by filming everything on a dolly to eliminate any camera shake, while still creating a parallax motion in every shot.
I also intentionally chose a color combination of warm and cold that shifts throughout the song, based on how warm or cold certain parts had to feel.
You’ll also notice a heavy focus on the instruments being played, especially during the last verse.
I might be a bit biased, but I'm getting goosebumps every time I watch it. And I've seen it at least a 100 times while editing!
Lose Control
This music video had a very different goal than Fall, even though they were shot in for the same artist in the same studio in the same day. The feeling I went for in this video was a lot more lose and fun. I achieved this look by filming hand held instead of on a dolly, using bright white lights so all the colors in the wardrobe and instruments would pop more and by breaking the fourth wall by showing more of the studio and the crew having a good time.
